Tim has created a phenomenal piece of woodworking for his first major project in grade 11. He used the plans from Canadian Home Workshop, but had to fix a couple of measurements that were incorrect in the article. This table has chess/checkers board built right in. There are two drawers underneath that hold chess pieces. Tim used a combination of solid maple and solid purple heart throughout.
The legs are tapered to give an elegant look and the bottoms are routered with a round-over bit to give a floating appearance. The rails are mortised and tennoned to the legs to give a lifetime of strength.

Thats great!
